Sell your pickup truck online, running or not

Full-size and midsize pickups, two- or four-wheel drive, running or not. Here’s what to tell us about each.

  • Ford F-150

Ford’s full-size pickup. From the 2015 model year it has an aluminum-alloy body, so show body damage clearly, along with the frame.

  • Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Chevrolet’s full-size pickup. Tell us the cab, the bed length, the engine and whether it’s four-wheel drive.

  • GMC Sierra 1500

GMC’s full-size pickup, the Silverado’s sibling. Tell us the trim, Denali included, and show any rust underneath.

  • Ram 1500

Ram’s full-size pickup, sold as the Dodge Ram before the brand split off from Dodge. Tell us the engine and the cab.

  • Toyota Tacoma

Toyota’s midsize pickup. On an older Tacoma, include a photo of the frame: rust there matters more than anything on the body.

  • Toyota Tundra

Toyota’s full-size pickup. Tell us the cab and the engine, and show the frame and the bed in your photos.

  • Chevrolet Colorado

Chevrolet’s midsize pickup, with the GMC Canyon as its sibling. Tell us the engine and whether it’s four-wheel drive.

  • Ford Ranger

Ford’s smaller pickup. On a 2004–2006 Ranger, check the airbag recall below before you sell.

What affects your truck’s offer

Mileage and condition count for every vehicle. These are the things that move a truck’s offer most.

  • Cab, bed, engine and drive

A truck’s configuration is a big part of its value. Tell us the cab (regular, extended or crew), the bed length, the engine, and whether it’s two- or four-wheel drive.

  • Frame rust

Rust underneath matters most on a truck. In 2016, Toyota settled a class action over frame rust on 2005–2010 Tacomas and 2007–2008 Tundras. On any older truck, show the frame in your photos.

  • Lifts, towing gear and other changes

Tell us about a lift or leveling kit, bigger wheels and tires, a towing package or a bed cover. Take off anything you want to keep, like a toolbox or a hitch you’ll use again.

  • Aluminum F-150 bodies

From the 2015 model year, the F-150 has an aluminum-alloy body and bed on a steel frame. Show any body damage clearly in your photos.

  • Takata airbags in older Rangers

Ford warned owners of 2004–2006 Rangers with unrepaired Takata driver airbag inflators not to drive them except to a dealer for the free repair. If yours is one, tell us whether it’s been fixed.

  • Open recalls

Recall repairs are free at an authorized dealer, so it’s worth checking your VIN or plate before you sell.

How selling your truck works

  1. Tell us about your car

Your truck’s year, model, cab, mileage and how it runs, plus a few photos.

  2. Review your offer

It usually comes back in minutes and is good for 7 days or 300 miles. There’s no obligation.

  3. Hand over the keys. Get paid.

We pick it up wherever it’s parked, for free, and pay you at pickup once the title is signed.

Before you sell your truck

A few things to sort out before pickup.

  • Check for open recalls with your VIN or plate. Recall repairs are free at an authorized dealer. NHTSA recall lookup
  • Empty the bed, the cab and any toolbox, and take off accessories you want to keep.
  • Remove the truck from the maker’s app, and cancel or transfer connected services like OnStar.
  • Find every key and fob, and have the title in your name with no loans or liens on it.

Questions about selling a truck online.

What truck owners ask us most.

Do you buy trucks with high mileage?

Yes. Older and high-mileage trucks are welcome. Tell us the mileage and condition as they are, and the offer reflects it.

Will you buy a truck that doesn’t run?

Yes, and pickup is still free. It just needs to be somewhere a tow truck can reach.

Do you buy trucks with frame rust?

Yes. Rust is part of what we look at, so show the frame in your photos and it’s priced in from the start.

Do you buy lifted or modified trucks?

Yes. Tell us about the lift, the wheels and tires, and anything else that’s been changed, and include photos.

Do you buy midsize pickups?

Yes: Tacomas, Colorados, Canyons, Rangers and the rest, as well as full-size F-150s, Silverados, Sierras, Ram 1500s and Tundras.

Can I sell a truck that still has a loan on it?

Not while the loan is open. We need a title with no liens, so pay off the loan and get the lien released first.
