What affects your Chevy’s offer

Mileage and condition count for every car. These are the Chevrolet-specific things to tell us about.

  • Ignition switch recall

GM’s 2014 ignition switch recalls covered 2005–2010 Cobalts and 2006–2011 HHRs. If you have one, check your VIN to see whether the repair was done, and tell us.

  • Bolt battery replacement

Under GM’s battery recall, Bolt EVs and Bolt EUVs were eligible for replacement battery modules. Tell us whether yours had them, and what the range is now.

  • Rust on trucks and SUVs

On an older Silverado, Tahoe or Suburban, rust underneath matters more than anything on the body. Show the frame, the rocker panels and the wheel wells in your photos.

  • Open recalls

Recall repairs are free at an authorized dealer, so it’s worth checking your VIN or plate before you sell.

Questions about selling a Chevy.

What Chevrolet owners ask us most.

Do you buy Chevys with high mileage?

Yes. Older and high-mileage Chevrolets are welcome. Tell us the mileage and condition as they are, and the offer reflects it.

Will you buy a Chevy that doesn’t run?

Yes, and pickup is still free. It just needs to be somewhere a tow truck can reach.

Do you buy Chevy trucks and SUVs?

Yes: Silverados, Colorados, Tahoes, Suburbans, Traverses and Equinoxes, as well as Chevrolet cars and vans.

Do you buy Chevys with rust?

Yes. Rust is part of what we look at, so show it in your photos and it’s priced in from the start.

Do I need my Chevy’s service records?

No, but they help. Records showing regular maintenance back up the condition you describe.

Is Sell My Car Online part of Chevrolet?

No. We’re an independent car buyer that buys directly from owners, Chevrolet owners included.
